Job Description:
The Organization is looking for a Senior Oracle Database Administrator who is responsible for the architecture, design, implementation and operational support of mission-critical relational database systems,proactively conducts performance monitoring, optimizations and tuning as needed,ensuring physical backups are complete on a regularly scheduled basis and performing recovery of the databases as required and provides database-related support for application development teams.
Responsibilities:
• Performing database administration, tuning and performance monitoring for Oracle databases.
• Installing and patching Oracle databases.
• Develop, implement, administer and maintain policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the databases.
• Document all support procedures and cross-train other team members.
Requirements:
• Bachelors in Information Systems or equivalent experience
• 8+ years Oracle database administration experience
• 2+ years of Oracle RAC experience using Automatic Storage Management (ASM)
• 2+ years of data modeling experience
• 2+ years of experience with UNIX/LINUX platforms
• Must be Oracle Certified
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Provide 24x7 rotation support and as needed
• Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with staff members and customers with varying levels of information technology expertise.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE)
• Experience with an ETL tool
• Experience with Oracle Application Server
• Experience with sizable high volume OLTP and DSS environments (800 GB +)
• Experience with back-end and middle-tier support of J2EE deployment practices and protocols
